Our Story

Born from Friendship, Built for Community

It all started with eight new mamas looking for community, connection and a little company on the wild ride of motherhood. We gathered for a holiday potluck and gift exchange with our littles in tow. By the following year, our group had tripled—and we knew we had something special.

We also had a few things to work out: too much leftover wine and too many conversations interrupted by chasing tiny humans. So, we switched things up. The kids stayed home, the fancy “furs” came out, and the gift exchange became something more meaningful. Instead of buying presents, we pooled our generosity to support a local nonprofit close to our hearts.

And just like that, Mamas for a Cause was born.

Causes We Have Supported

Mamas for a Cause selects a local beneficiary organization each year. We do not provide direct services ourselves; rather, we mobilize our community and resources to elevate and fund the dedicated organizations already doing vital work on the ground.

Awaken | 5TH ANNUAL DINNER

Theme: Under the Northern Lights. Held January 20, 2024, in support of Awaken.

Renown's Conrad Breast Center | 6TH ANNUAL DINNER

Theme: Cirque de la Vie at LEX at GSR, Reno. Benefiting the Pennington Cancer Institute's Conrad Breast Center to support local breast cancer diagnosis, care, and recovery.
